SMS Privacy Notice
This notice explains how SANE MAT Program handles personal information when you communicate with us by text message.
Effective and last updated: July 31, 2026
Do not use text messaging for an emergency. Call 911 or the appropriate emergency service. SMS is not guaranteed to be secure, immediate, or continuously available.
Scope
This notice applies to conversational text messages sent to or from a SANE MAT Program business telephone number. It supplements any broader privacy notice that may apply to other SANE MAT Program services.
Information we collect
When you communicate with us by SMS or MMS, we may collect:
Your mobile telephone number and name.
The content of messages and attachments you send to us.
Message dates, times, delivery status, and related technical records.
Your consent, opt-out, and help-request records.
Information needed to respond to your inquiry or coordinate requested services.
How we use information
We use text-message information to respond to inquiries, coordinate services you request, provide customer support, maintain communication preferences, protect our systems, resolve disputes, and comply with legal and carrier requirements.
Our SMS program is intended for person-to-person, conversational communication. We do not use your enrollment in this program to send automated marketing messages unless you provide separate consent.
How SMS consent is obtained
We obtain consent directly from you before initiating text messages. Consent may be documented during an in-person intake, during a telephone conversation, or when you initiate a text conversation with us. A referral from another person is not treated as your consent.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing or receiving services. You may withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP.
When information is shared
We do not sell your mobile number. We do not share mobile information, SMS opt-in data, or consent records with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
We may provide information to service providers that help us deliver and support messaging, including communications and telecommunications providers, only for those operational purposes. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention and security
We retain message records and consent information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, our operational requirements, and applicable law. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no text-messaging system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, government identification numbers, detailed medical information, or other highly sensitive information by SMS.
Your choices
Reply STOP to end text messages. Reply HELP for assistance. After an opt-out request, we may send one final message confirming that the request was processed. We may continue communicating with you through other methods when permitted.
You may request access to or correction of your SMS-related personal information, subject to applicable law, by contacting SANE MAT Program through the contact information published on our primary website.
Children's information
This SMS program is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this program without appropriate authorization, please contact us.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our practices or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise required by law.
